Today’s drabble is by new contributor, Kevin Hopson. Kevin has 3 drabbles each in Mythical Creatures of Asia and the upcoming Mythical Beings of Asia (links below story). Enjoy!
“Go to sleep, or the Gurumapa will come for you,” Keshab said.
Mukta gawked at his older brother. “Don’t speak his name. Just saying it will make him come.”
“Only if a parent beckons,” Keshab said.
Mukta watched as Keshab’s eyes widened. He was staring out the bedroom window, and Mukta turned to look. The trees parted and a giant creature emerged from the forest.
“He’s coming!” Mukta said.
Mukta sat frozen on his bed, the creature stopping outside the window.
“Please don’t take me,” Mukta pleaded.
“I haven’t come for you,” the Gurumapa said. “I’ve come for your brother.”
